Please bring all previous medical reports and assessments. For children and adolescents, bring reports from medical professionals and allied health providers (speech pathologist, occupational therapist, etc.). School reports and NAPLAN results are also required. Remember to bring reading glasses and hearing aids if you use them. We recommend bringing water and snacks, and ensuring you get a good night's sleep before testing.
The duration varies based on age, complexity, and assessment type. The initial clinical interview is 60 minutes, where we discuss your history and current concerns. Testing typically takes 3 hours and can be split into multiple sessions (recommended for children and older adults). Report preparation takes 8-14 hours, with the final report available within 3-4 weeks.
Fees vary based on age, complexity, and assessment type. The initial intake consultation for an assessment is $298 which includes a 60 minute consultation plus up to 15 minutes of previous report reading/admin time. This is below the APS recommended schedule of fees. Neuropsychological assessment, scoring and report writing is charged at $220 an hour. A feedback and intervention session is $298 and is 60 minutes.
A $400 deposit is required to secure your booking and is deducted from the invoice. This deposit becomes a cancellation fee for late cancellations or no-shows. Please contact us for specific pricing.
Amanda is registered with Medicare as a provider of psychological services. If you have a mental health plan (sought from a GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist), you will be entitled to a Medicare rebate of $141 (including telehealth sessions). This only applies to the initial consultation and the feedback session. Unfortunately Medicare rebates are not typically available for cognitive assessments and reports. We recommend checking with your private health insurance provider about available rebates.
